MARITIME SERVICES

Independent marine surveys, cargo inspections and operational support across Northern and Northeastern Brazil.

On/Off-Hire Surveys & Condition Surveys

We carry out independent on/off-hire surveys at vessel delivery or redelivery. The attendance may include bunker quantity measurements, vessel condition inspection, verification of relevant documents, photographic records and delivery or redelivery certificates.

Bunker Quantity Surveys (including Detective Survey)

Our bunker quantity surveys include tank soundings or ullages, temperature and density verification, review of vessel documents and calculation of the fuel quantities remaining on board. A detailed report is issued with the survey results and supporting records.

Vessel Condition Surveys

We inspect the general condition of accessible areas of the vessel according to the agreed scope. The inspection may include cargo holds, hatch covers, main deck, cranes, accommodation areas and other relevant spaces, supported by photographic records and detailed observations.

Outturn Surveys

We monitor the condition and quantity of cargo during discharge and compare the observed results with the available shipping and cargo documents. Any apparent shortages, damage or irregularities are recorded and reported to the client.

Loading & Discharging Supervision

We provide continuous or periodic supervision of loading and discharging operations, monitoring cargo condition, handling, stowage, segregation, weather conditions, operational delays and other relevant events. Regular updates and photographic records are provided to the client.

Draft Surveys

We perform initial, intermediate and final draft surveys to determine the quantity of cargo loaded or discharged. Calculations consider the vessel’s drafts, displacement, ballast, bunkers, freshwater and other relevant variables.

Cargo Hold Cleanliness Inspections

We inspect cargo holds to assess their cleanliness and apparent suitability for the intended cargo. The inspection covers accessible tank tops, bulkheads, frames, bilges, loose rust, previous cargo residues and potential sources of contamination.

Port Captain & Supercargo Services

Port Captain and Supercargo services include operational coordination, cargo handling supervision, stowage monitoring, lashing, securing, dunnage, segregation, safety observations, progress control and regular reporting to the client.

Cargo Condition & Damage Surveys

We carry out independent inspections to record the condition of cargo and investigate reported damage. The attendance may include photographic evidence, examination of accessible cargo, review of relevant documents and recording of operational circumstances.

Hatch Cover Inspections

We perform visual inspections of hatch covers and accessible components to identify apparent conditions that may affect weathertightness and cargo protection. Additional testing may be arranged when included in the agreed scope.

P&I and Marine Claims Attendance

We provide independent attendance on behalf of P&I interests and other maritime parties to document incidents, cargo damage, vessel damage and relevant operational circumstances, according to the instructions received.

Cargo Lashing & Securing Supervision

We supervise cargo lashing, securing, shoring, chocking and dunnage arrangements according to the agreed scope, recording the work performed and reporting relevant observations to the client.

Cargo Loss Adjusting & Claims Surveys

In addition to its core maritime services, TWS provides independent cargo surveys and loss adjusting services involving sea, road and air transportation.
